Charles Barker was born 10 March 1822* in Rochdale, Lancashire, England to William Casher (Kershaw) and Elizabeth Barker. He died January 7, 1905 in Taylorsville, Salt Lake, Utah. Charles married Frances Kitchen October 10, 1864 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. Frances (Fannie)Kitchen was born January 17, 1831 in Helsington, Westmorland, England and died December 20, 1904 in Taylorsville, Salt Lake, Utah. Frances was buried December 23, 1904.
INSCRIPTION ON GRAVE MARKER:
Weep not that our toils are over
Weep not that our hour is runned
God grant you may rest as calmly
When your work like ours is done.
Charles and Frances were the parents of 4 children: David John Barker, Elizabeth Ann Barker Morris, Mary Agnes Barker Park and Charles Willard Barker.
This new grave marker was placed on October 8, 2005 to celebrate their 142nd Wedding Anniversary. It was placed in front of their original grave marker so that it could be preserved.
GRAVE LOCATION: Plat 1 Block C Section 26 Graves 8 & 9.
*NOTE: Charles' birth information has not been documented. He was illegitimate and birth records have not been found.
